Distance is Great for Therapy!

As an experienced therapist and trainer of EFT, I often get chat calls on FaceBook from either students or people I have on my "Friends" list - over a hundred now.   They can be absolutely anywhere and the feeling that although they are on my lap-top screen, they are actually the other side of the world, is quite surreal.  The remoteness is quite helpful as is gives me space to think in.  I know that makes no sense, but that is how it comes across to me.  Also there is the typing part of the process.  It again stretches out the time and the concentration on the wording and grammar also stretch the thinking process into deeper realms.

Tonight I was chatting to two people at once; one in Canada and one in the next town and swapping between them added yet another dimension to this already multi layered consultation.   As questions were asked I could see the answers so clearly and the typing was smooth and accurate to boot.  I love EFT and helping either other practitioners with their work, or patients with their problems and social networking has really opened up the world to me - quite literally!

Distance came into its own today, when one of my friends was complaining that she had a lot of symptoms after explaining a deeply emotional event that had happened recently.  From the benefit of my couch I could see this was not a lot of symptoms, but a very emotional core issue that was switching aspects as the friend got close to tapping the presenting symptom away.  So I explained and it was as if the lights came on for them.  All clear now.  Let's see what tomorrow brings....
